Life experience is a term used to denote the practical familiarity' with something. You have been a coder for ten years. You have not studied anywhere, you have learnt on your own. There is a person who has paid and studied same thing as you and has a certificate to show for it. Does it mean that he is a competent as you? Does it mean he is as proficient at coding as you are? Now when you apply for a job, you may be turned down in favor of that fresher. Why? Because he has a certification'. Aren't you feeling that even you should have a certification of sorts? Exactly!
