Misconceptions About Almeda University Life Experience Degrees

By Shubhanyu Jain Search the internet for online degrees, and you will most likely encounter the term life experience degree' and also the attached stigma. I suggest, take it with a pinch of salt. Here's why. It is a daring statement, but yet, almost ALL of them have got their concepts wrong. Wow! How come? It's simple. None of them understand the real reason behind a life experience degree, and none of them has ever tried to find out! So What Is Life Experience Like? Life experience is a term used to denote the practical familiarity' with something. You have been a coder for ten years. You have not studied anywhere, you have learnt on your own. There is a person who has paid and studied same thing as you and has a certificate to show for it. Does it mean that he is a competent as you? Does it mean he is as proficient at coding as you are? Now when you apply for a job, you may be turned down in favor of that fresher. Why? Because he has a certification'. Aren't you feeling that even you should have a certification of sorts? Exactly! That is exactly what Almeda University does! It recognizes your talent, in other words, your experience; and if you are able to prove it, you are awarded a degree good enough in 67% of all corporations. Take note, however; the degree is INVALID for claiming jobs in the public sector. So why is Almeda University being scoffed like that? Again a misconception - the so called "diploma mills" take Almeda as a threat to their existence; solely on account of its superiority over them in every aspect. They fail to understand that Almeda is not a threat - it is just a blessing in disguise for those who are not having a degree to boot. We need to broaden our mindset over these issues which plague the society; we need to ramp up our existing system to bring equality to the masses. Together we need to counter the statement once made by someone - some people are more equal than others. Let us prove him wrong. Let us bring the un-degree-d at par with the degree-d. Making Votive Candles

By Mike McDonough Votives: Getting Started Votives are arguably one of the easiest kinds of molded candles to make. They add a great deal of charm to just about any setting. The typical votive will burn for approximately 15 hours and will consume just about all of the wax that was used to create it. A properly crafted votive will liquefy to some degree as it burns. This is necessary to achieve good scent throw. Votives are not intended to be free standing candles. Therefore it is important to burn votives only in a holder that is intended for votives. What you will need: Wax suitable for votives
Wax additives (only if needed for your wax formulation)
Fragrance oil (optional)
Dye (optional)
Pre-tabbed wicks suitable for votives (36-24-24 zinc core used here)
Metal Votive Molds
Mold release spray (optional)
Pouring pot
Thermometer Step 1) Prepare your molten wax mixture. You should be able to review these instructions while your wax is melting. Before continuing, set up a double boiler to melt your wax. A good target temperature for votives is 175 F. Once your wax has completely melted, add any additives you have selected and mix thoroughly, but try to avoid introducing air into the mixture. Add them in the following order: 1.Additives such as vybar or stearic acid (but only if needed) 2.Fragrance Oil 3.Dye (this is done last so that you get visual confirmation that everything else has mixed well with the wax) Before pouring your wax, you may want to lightly coat your molds with a very thin film of mold-release agent such as silicone spray or a Pam-type cooking spray. This helps aid the release of the finished candle from the mold. However, it is really only needed with new molds. Step 2) Votives: Initial Wax Pour
Place your votive molds on a newspaper-lined surface to catch any spills. With your wax at the proper pouring temperature (about 175 F), fill your votive molds to the lip of the mold. The objective here is to get the wax just up to the lip without over flowing. If you pour to a level lower than the lip, you may get seam lines in your finished candle. Care should be taken to minimize the number of bubbles introduced while pouring.
Save about 20% of your wax for the re-pour at a later step. Do not return it to the heat source. Step 3) Add Pre-tabbed Wicks.
Wait for your wax to cool for a short period of time. While it is cooling, prepare your wicks by straightening them. They do not need to be perfectly straight at this point; a loose approximation of "straight" is fine.
Once the wax just begins to congeal, insert your pre-tabbed wicks. The tab will "stick" to the bottom when it touches. Care should be taken to position the tab roughly in the center of the mold. FYI: Why wait for the wax to begin congealing? At the temperature of the congealing point, the wax is cool enough that it will not interfere with the firmness of the primed wick. It also is the temperature that allows the metal tab to "stick" to the base of the mold. At higher temperatures, the wick can be a little more difficult to manage (not impossible). Once the tab has stuck to the base of the mold, it is very easy to manipulate the wick to straighten it. Sometimes you may wish to wait a few moments to allow the metal tab to form a stronger bond with the base of the mold before attempting to straighten the wick. During the cooling process, the shrinking wax may pull the wick off-center. If this occurs, simply apply a light tug to straighten the wick from time to time. Do not use so much force as to free the metal tab on the base. Allow your wax to completely cool before proceeding to the next step. This may take 3-4 hours. Step 4). Votives: Re-pour Wax
When the wax has completely cooled, it will have shrunken a bit, leaving a sink hole that needs to be filled. Melt down the wax that you saved from step 2 above. This time, your target pouring temperature will be 10-15 degrees hotter than the initial pour (pour at about 190 deg. F for this step). This increased temperature is to facilitate adhesion between layers. Once your wax is at the proper temperature, fill the molds to a level just slightly above the lip of the mold. Care should be taken to avoid spills.
Allow your candles to completely cool. Step 5). Molded Candle Instructions: Remove Votive from Mold Once your votives are completely cool, remove them from the mold. They will usually slide right out without any difficulty if they are completely cool.
If they are difficult to remove from the molds, place them in the freezer for about 5 minutes. This will usually do the trick. If they are still difficult, place them back in the freezer for another 5 minutes and try again. Also, for very stubborn candles, it sometimes helps to gently press the sides of the mold inward as you "roll" the mold in the palms of your hands Step 6). Molded Candle Instructions: Votives: Enjoy Always burn votives in a votive holder. Remember that they are not intended to be free-standing candles and they will liquefy. Finding the Right Type of Catering for Your Event

By Valerie Vollmer Full Service Catering: This can be heavy hors d oeuvres, sit-down meals, beautiful buffets and stations, beverages, cappuccino bars and other event planning. This can involve on-site cooking of some of the food using your kitchen space and oven, to setting up a temporary kitchen on site to prepare your meals. You have a full wait staff to set up the entire event and to tend to you and your guests needs during this special occasion. The staff will take down and clean up, and they should even take away the trash. They will work closely with your hired professional vendors to ensure that your event is perfect. Private Catering Events at a Restaurant: Many restaurants can offer you private use of their facility often called a buy-out. They will close their restaurant during their regular hour for a price. Remember that they will turn away all business that would come their way, and there for patrons will go elsewhere for the evening. The price is usually expensive, but if it is your favorite place, what a better way to celebrate. You can bring in your own entertainment, floral and dcor or let them take care of it all. You can do as much or as little as you would like. Show up, have a wonderful time, and go home with no extra work on your part. Pick-up and Drop Offs: Food that is mostly self-service. Many places will offer their popular items, hors d oeuvres or entrees, that can be picked up by you or delivered to the party site. You may consider hiring an outside service staff to assist you, or ask family and friends to help serve and clean up. The food can come ready to serve on platters or may require chafing dishes to keep them hot. Some caterers offer appetizers that are best when cooked right before serving and they can even supply you with the simple cooking instructions. This is a very cost effective way to cater, and the size of your event can dictate if this is really a practical way to go. Meet with A Caterer! Plan at least six months to one year before your wedding to begin planning. Look for caterers who are members of catering associations. By being a member they surround themselves with professionals and industry leaders. You need a professional who is constantly educating themselves to provide you the client, with the most up to date menu, trends and ideas to create the best event possible. View their portfolio and see the style of their work. Many will create a proposal for you, based on your menu selection and style of catering service. There should be no charge for this service, and you should be able to change, add or delete items up until at least one month before your event. Of course this can affect the price. If this is an off-premise event, meet with the caterer at the site and discuss your vision for the location. Call a rental company to come out as well, to make sure your proposal is as accurate as possible. If you are comparing catering companies, please make sure you are comparing the style of service and menu selection. One caterer is not offering you drop off food in foil pans and the other is offering you a full service catering event with a 5-course meal and full staffing! Once you receive the proposal make sure everything you asked for is included and you understand what is presented. Upon agreeing to the terms and conditions of the catering service a deposit is due to confirm their services with you for that day. The number of events a caterer does in one day varies with each event, guest count, style of service and the menu. You want to find someone who is not looking to be the busiest only the best! Valerie Vollmer has been an off premise caterer for over 20 years. Is one of only 175 CPCE (Certified Professional Catering Executives) in the US. The Facts About Cosmetic Surgery

By Jenna Keys Cosmetic surgery is big business now, the advances of science and technology meaning it has become more affordable and much more accessible for anyone to consider it. Far from breast enhancements being the only option anymore, there are operations that can be done on virtually any part of your body to aesthetically enhance your appearance. Getting the body beautiful has never been such a viable option as it is now. Types of cosmetic surgery. Reading any daily newspaper (usually the tabloids) will give a good indication as to the types of cosmetic surgery that are available. It seems that nearly every popular celebrity has had Botox injections or a face-lift to improve their appearance but cosmetic surgery isnt just about improving your appearance to fit in. Disfigurations can have a detrimental effect on many peoples lives, and cosmetic surgery is a reasonable answer to the psychological problems that can accompany them. Acne scar removal is a relatively simple operation and can change lives in a matter of weeks. Pierced ear repair and tattoo removal are also becoming very popular as more and more young adults are having body piercing and tattoos only to want them removed later in life. Then, of course, there are the physical changes that some people feel are required to keep them at the peak of their physical appearance. Botox, (curiously enough, was originally a form of germ warfare!) , has become very popular as Botox injections are considerably cheaper than having surgical lifts. Botox works by temporarily paralysing muscles and fixing parts of the body in certain positions. It can be effectively used to remove laughter lines or wrinkles but is only temporary so regular visits are needed to keep the appearance they give. Breast enhancement and reduction are as popular as ever with women, and many breast cancer victims have breast-rebuilding treatment in order to regain their natural body shapes and confidence. Face lifts help mask the natural signs of aging by pulling the skin tight and removing wrinkles and bags. Tummy tucks, Rhinoplasty (the political correct version of a nose job) and Liposuction are also available. These are a few of the more popular versions of cosmetic surgery but if there is a part of your body you arent happy with there is bound to be a surgeon somewhere that can do what is required. Is cosmetic surgery safe? Unfortunately, due to the money involved in cosmetic surgery, there have been a number of more unscrupulous surgeons offering their services at reduced costs. These surgeons usually have little or no qualifications and avoiding them is the most important thing you can do if considering cosmetic surgery. Selecting the right clinic can take time, and definitely isnt something you should rush into. Always select a clinic that boasts recognised qualifications; a little research on the Internet will tell you whether a qualification has been earned, bought or simply printed. Only consider using a clinic that offers a one-on-one with a surgeon before operating. They should be able to advise you on all aspects of your chosen surgery from the benefits, the look and feel, the actual operation and any side affects that may be associated with it. If they dont offer this, then you should reconsider using that particular clinic. What should I ask my surgeon? You may have a little knowledge or you may have a lot of knowledge about your chosen surgery, but you should always research a little yourself before you visit the clinic for your one-on-one. Know what you are stepping into. By looking on the Internet and perhaps ringing around several clinics asking for information you will probably be presented with a few questions you want to ask. Do not be afraid to ask the questions, no matter how trivial or how stupid they seem. There are a number of questions you should always ask a surgeon or a clinic before you make that all-important final decision. These questions should include, but not be limited to, asking about any side effects. If you are told there are no side effects you should be very wary indeed. Consider the side effects on a tub of painkillers you can buy over the counter. The list is seemingly endless, and having cosmetic surgery will undoubtedly have a longer list of potential side effects than taking a couple of Paracetemol. Question your surgeon about his experience and qualifications. Usually the certificates will be framed on the wall of their office, if not, do not be afraid to ask. A reputable surgeon will be only to please to show you his certificates. Ask how long the treatment will take and how much time will be needed to recover. Ask is there are any alternatives, surgical or non-surgical. Once you have all the facts you will be in a position to make a better informed and accurate decision. The bottom line on cosmetic surgery. Many people consider and have cosmetic surgery and the decrease in price has brought with it a wider array of potential treatments. Surgery isnt always necessary but, if you have your heart set on it, then be sure to thoroughly research every aspect of your treatment, the clinic you intend to use and the surgeon who will carry out the procedure. Ask plenty of questions about experience, qualification and side effects. Once you have all the knowledge, and if you are sure you want to proceed then at least you know you have done as much as possible to make sure your cosmetic surgery is done safely. How To Analyze Junior Exploration Companies

By Rob Rens Most conventional analytical techniques cannot be applied to junior exploration companies. Most juniors lack either a property with a PROVEN economic ore body or sufficient capital to attain production should a mine be found. How then are junior companies evaluated? The following are some factors to be considered: 1) Extent of exploration activities and location of properties 2) Management's track record - Is management experienced? Have they discovered or do they operate any producing mines? 3) Financial position - Is there enough working capital to finance exploration or will more treasury shares have to be issued ?( this is where dilution comes into place ) 4) Common shares issued - How many common shares are issued and outstanding? (o/s) If a company has few assets and a great number of common shares o/s ( I smell OTC ... ), a reverse stock split may be necessary before new equity capital can be raised. Successful analysis of junior mining companies and their correlating share price requires SPECIALIZED knowledge (Shhh, can you keep a secret), patience and willingness to devote a great deal of time to security selection. Shares of junior mining companies can resist sharp price fluctuations in response to favorable or unfavorable news or rumors. Nimble trading is required if profits are to be realized or losses minimized. Stockhideout.com

Is She the One?

By Vlady Peters From the beginning of time, when a man was looking for his mate, at the back of his mind was the thought, am I choosing wisely. Today, he will get on the internet and fool himself into believing that the glamorous photograph of his lady love, is a true and honest representation. And, of course, the details of her many accomplishments and talents are in no way being exaggerated. In matters of the heart, the likelihood of being taken in is always on the cards. Poor Henry Vlll felt very badly done by when he found that the woman he had chosen by the picture given to him, and by the stories of her beauty and excellence he'd heard from her friends and family, did not measure at all when he saw her in person. No doubt, though she was more discreet and not as vocal, his prospective bride had some second thoughts herself. He had looked a lot more virile, and no where near as Buddha-like in his picture, as he did in real life. Some five hundred years ago, the Japanese went about the discovery of the potential brides suitability in a careful and systematic manner. In expressing his interest, even before he actually met the girl herself, the suitor would compose a romantic thirty-one syllable poem. Upon receiving it, if the girl was interested, she would compose a poem in return. Studying the parchment with care, the suitor would then decided what sort of a person was suggested by the composition and the brush strokes. Was this a woman of accomplishment worthy of him, or was she some drop-out, barely able to differentiate between one end of the brush and the other, and had as much of an idea of what a syllable was as Scrooge Christmas cheer. Needless to say, the girl and her family scrutinized his handwriting and versification with the same care as he did theirs, but since females always outnumbered the males, she was inclined to be less fastidious than he. A lot of couples place their future happiness in matchmakers who get paid for bringing about a match. As to be expected, when money enters the equation, beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder. And so it was inevitable that meeting each other for the first time one or the other party and often both would be disappointed. She had to make the sale, and she couldnt be too fussy. An apocryphal story has it, that one groom, upon meeting the matchmakers choice, complained softly that the girl was neither rich, nor beautiful as the mattchmaker had proclaimed her to be. The matchmaker, much more loudly, assured him that he didnt have to whisper. The girl was deaf as well! 6 Ways Not To Give Up

By Christine McGogy Mike just got back his math test from the week before. The mark he earned was a C. He can barely hold back his disappointment, because he studied for this test for quite a long time. He just cant believe it. He feels that it doesnt even matter if he tries or not. Even when he tries really hard, he still doesnt get good marks. What is the use of trying? Granted, it feels very disappointing when things dont work out the way you had planned; especially when you put in a good effort. So how to you keep going when the going gets tough? Would you call it quits too if you were in Dans shoes or would you continue to study for your tests despite the low mark received in this test? The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a persons determination. - Tommy Lasorda 1. Keeping An Open Mind In Mikes case I hope that you would agree that it is too soon to throw in the towel. Its important that you keep trying until you get the result that you want. When you say, I quit you shut off your inner dynamo and your determination leaves. Giving up is the easy (and tempting) thing to do! Dont give up! Keep trying! The one thing that you can do in pursuing your goal is to keep an open mind. You will be more aware of ideas and opportunities around you that could help you move you closer towards your goal. Once you say I quit you basically are closing off your mind from any more ways to getting closer to your end result and having any breakthroughs. Like in the example about the math test, if Dan keeps an open mind and chooses to keep studying for tests, he may find new ways of studying ways that work better for him to help him retain the information, because not everybody learns in the same way. There are always more ways than one to do something! 2. Trial and Error One thing for you to remember when you get discouraged is that you actually tried in the first place. You made an effort! If you got a result that you didnt like, you will need to adjust your action based upon your result until you get a
better outcome. Especially in the beginning of something, we feel overwhelmed at times and think that we will never get there. Yes, you may have temporary setbacks, but if you learn from those and change your actions you will get what you want. Colonel Sanders was rejected over 1000 times before someone bought his famous chicken recipe. The Wright brothers tried many times before taking flight. Thomas Edison tried to invent the light bulb over 9999 times. He said that every attempt showed him just another way
how not to invent the electric lamp. He didnt look at it as mistakes, but as each trial as an advancement towards his ultimate goal. What a powerful mindset to have! The spirit of stick-to-it-iveness (in proper English the word is tenacity) is the one that wins! Each time you try again, you WIN! 3. Questions are the answer! When you run out of ideas its time to start asking questions. Who do you ask the questions? Guess what, its YOU! Thats right, you have to start asking yourself the questions and you WILL come up with more answers. The trick is to ask yourself better questions so that
you will get better answers! What do I mean by that? OK, let me give you an example and lets use the scenario from above about Mike and his math test. Now he could ask himself, How come I never get a good mark? How come I cant do well in school? The kicker is that when you ask those kinds of unhelpful questions you are going to come up with answers that are just as unhelpful like Because I am stupid, because Ill never learn it, because I am no good, etc. Now let me ask you some questions: Are those answers going to help you? How are they going to make you feel? Are they going to make you take action and try again? Here is a better way of asking yourself questions: What can I try differently next time to help me study? Ask questions that are geared towards getting what you want, not what you dont want. Keep the questions positive! For extra effectiveness, try writing the question(s) down. Ask yourself the questions before you go to sleep at night and often times the answers will come the next day as your brain had time to think about it while you were sleeping! Sounds pretty easy, doesnt it? Keep asking better questions and better answers will come! 4. Guidance Here is another question. Who can help you? Is there somebody that has already achieved the same goal? Find them and ask them what they did to get there. Asking doesnt cost anything. If they wont help you, find somebody else! And guess what, chances are these people werent always doing great at first. The difference is that they kept going however small the action seemed at the time. Once you have the determination to persist until you get what you want, you will become more confident in yourself as well. 5. Excuse me! A sure way to keep you from starting or even continuing towards your goal is to come up with an excuse. Lets face it; there is always an excuse ready for you to use if you so choose. Its easy to come up with excuses. If you find yourself making excuses take a minute and you will see that you are really just cheating yourself! 6. Picture it! I know that to make your goals a reality it most likely requires you to venture outside of your comfort zone. That can be scary and not feel very uncomfortable at first! Keep focusing on the benefit of your goal to push yourself further along. Take a minute whenever you feel overwhelmed and DREAM about your goal! See yourself already being there. Get a really clear picture of what you are going to look like, where you will be, and even what you will be feeling like! Its fun to dream and it will help make your dream come true! You deserve the best in life! You deserve to get what you are dreaming about and you alone can make it happen! Its your birthright to have it all! Nobody has the right to take that from you no matter what you have been told! Stay in the game. Dont give up. Dont quit. Dont succumb to pressure. You may need to take a breather every once in while to help you get back your momentum and thats OK just as long as you get back in the game again. Any dream worth having is worth persevering for! You have it inside of you to create your dreams and your future! Go for it and make it happen! If you can dream it, you can do it! -Walt Disney One of the greatest discoveries a man makes, one of his great Surprises, is to find he can do what he is afraid he couldnt do. -Henry Ford PS: Just one last note to let you know about when it really isnt advisable to keep trying. Its when youre trying to change somebody other than yourself. Its great to help out a friend and do things for them sometimes, just know that in the end its really their responsibility to take care of themselves and have their own goals. Its not going to work in the long run if you do it for them. SIGN UP FOR YOUR FREE TEENACITY GUIDE
