By Munyaradzi Chinongoza Would you like to learn magic tricks online? I can think of more than a dozen people right now, just from the top of my head, who would jump at the opportunity to learn magic tricks, if it was presented to them. There's no doubt in my mind that almost everyone wants to learn how to do those famous card tricks or make pennies disappear and reappear behind an ear, just to entertain your friends and family. It makes you the center of attraction at a party or gathering, and don't we all just love attention, I know I definitely do. There is so many different types of magic tricks you could learn, from simple tricks with cards, coins and string to tricks with beer cans, water glasses and even match boxes. The type of tricks you can perform usually depend on the level your are at as far as, the tricks you have learnt. Although, when you see magic being performed it looks like things are disappearing and reappearing in weird places or some things seem to be moving without anything touching them, its all elusion. Ever heard the hand is quicker than the eye, that is basically what magic is, the hand doing things fast enough so that the eye does not pick up what exactly happens. Sometimes, a magician will have special props created for their tricks to make them more entertaining, but even in these cases the magic trick will only be as effective as how well it has been performed. You will need to learn magic tricks, but not only stop there. You are also going to have to practice your magic tricks, so that you can even perform them in your sleep. If you get tired of the card, coin and string tricks, these are little tricks you can always move on to street magic like the famous David Blaine has been seen performing on TVs worldwide. Lantern Festival - Celebration for Some, Torture for Some
By Rajesh Kanoi My university, here in Huainan, that has looked so deserted for the past few weeks has started showing some signs of life. The odd student has started returning and there is certainly more activity here than in the last few weeks. The early birds here are the ones looking for their worms of love. Apparently, unable to bear the long Spring Festival-induced separation, they have come back to school sooner than necessary - sooner than necessary as per the school's diktats but perhaps, less sooner than the necessity imposed by nature. Which means, they have borne the festivities with some sort of stoicism. Spring Festival is the time when reunions are de rigeur for families. But lovers do not qualify as family and so they must make do with a period of segregation. They walk now, hand-in-hand, arm-in-arm, smiles on their faces, homes and hearths forgotten in the fire of love. Lantern Festival! Today, the fifteenth day of the Spring Festival, a full moon day, is the Lantern Festival when people remember their ancestors, if I recall rightly. After today, this year's Spring Festival will be consigned to the caves in the minds of the people and the hearts of lovers. Some will remember it with fondness and others, perhaps, with a little less, depending on what the festival gave or took from them. The streets this morning are deserted. The morning was noisy though, with firecrackers rousing me from my tossing-turning sleep well before fingers of light could brighten the horizon. Xia Wu Fandian (Afternoon Restaurant, if my translation skills are any good), my head-office as I refer to it since most of my meals and drinking are 'accomplished' there, was crowded. I walked on to see more of the festivities. All I saw was unenforced curfew - or, perhaps, a curfew enforced by tradition. I imagined people sitting to a lavish spread with their ones at home, leaving the streets to be trawled by the homeless and the foreigners, perhaps, equally homeless in some sense. I returned an hour later and the restaurant was as deserted as the streets and I sat down to my small measure of baijiu (white wine) appetizer and cabbage with fried and diced pieces of doufu (tofu, beancurd) and a bowl of rice to go with it. It tasted good, as usual. It's a dish created by a student's (Chris's) pretty girl firend, Peace. She directed the restaurant's owner-cum-chef on how to prepare it and it has become a hit with me and a few others I have taken with me to sample the dish. While I waited, I asked the owner's mother, who helps clean and wash the dishes there, where the lao ban niang (mistress of the establishment) was. 'Mama', a genial old lady, with an ever smiling face and busy hands, signalled that she was at home in bed. Why, I asked. She indicated that he, her son the lao ban, (the boss) had beaten her. I am about to call him and ask why he did that, forgetting for a moment, that men have been beatiing their wives for thousands of years, not only in China, India or Asia but all over the world. Thankfully, most women don't cower in the face of domestic violence anymore. Instead, they are more than willing to desert their violent husbands/mates. Unfortunately, in parts of Asia, women still allow that and don't raise a hand against their partners, nor their voice against the 'practice'. I wonder when this violence will end, when men will return their women the dignity they not only deserve but have earned over centuries. I believe, it's men with a huge sense of inferiority that do this, not men who are real men. Festival times are not times to rejoice for all...for some they are times of torture! Many of his short-stories, poems and articles have been published, including a book of short-stories, 'Tales From China' (Lipstick Publishing). http://www.writingup.com/blog/oneinabillion http://o3.indiatimes.com/kjack Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Rajesh_Kanoi http://EzineArticles.com/?Lantern-Festival---Celebration-for-Some,-Torture-for-Some&id=143494 apo-lorazepam 1mg

Abatement of Noxious Compounds and Chemicals in the Cleaning Business
By Lance Winslow So often in the cleaning business chemicals are not stored properly and neither are the empty containers which conveniently leak, mix with rain water and tip over and soak into the ground surrounding the building and seep into the ground water causing environmental issues; you know like three legged frogs and such. Now mind you I am not an environmentalist, but I do know a thing or two about environmental pollution and lots about the cleaning industry and business, especially on the service sector side of things. You see for years I ran a mobile pressure washing business, which we built up and franchised into 23 states. One thing I would always do is scout out the competition to see if they posed a threat to our franchisees and our forward progress in the market place. I would often visit their facilities and was usually taken aback at their lack of caring for the environment, plastic drums and steel barrels of containers left littered around the property with weeds growing between them. I will tell you that the problem is about 60% of the operators out there and in all the sub sectors from the 49,000 car washes to the 55,000 small businesses doing pressure washing and the 150,000 doing janitorial businesses; this is a huge thing and a real problems. Imagine the cancer risks to the workers and employees, which is the biggest concern people talk about. Someday someone ought to figure out what to do and organize the abatement of noxious compounds and chemicals in the Cleaning Business to prevent all these mini-eco-disasters. Consider all this in 2006. "Lance Winslow" - Online Think Tank forum board. Facing Our Fears
By Kim Bloomer "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14: 27, NIV Our Sunday paper gets the insert magazine, Parade. Today right on the cover was "Let's Stop Scaring Ourselves" by Michael Crichton. Funny because he wrote Jurassic Park and some other "scary" books. The very message we received in church today was being freed from fear. Apparently fear abounds in the world today, but as Christians we are to be freed from the bondages of the fear that drives unbelievers. In fact, we can be free to share with unbelievers the freedom of Jesus, whether they threaten us or not. Paul said to live is Christ and to die is gain. Either way, as Christians we win! So what is there to fear really but fear itself. Fill in the blank here: the opposite of love is? What did you answer? Did you answer hate? If you answered hate, you'd be wrong. The opposite of love is fear not hate although hate is a part of fear. The opposite of faith is fear also. If we have fear our faith and love are greatly lacking. You see God gives us the love we have. It doesn't just manifest out of nowhere, God is infusing us with His love in order that we might love others as an extenstion of His love and grace. When we fear, we are playing right into the devil's hands. He wants us afraid and focused on anything but the love and grace of God. God does not want us to live our lives stricken with fear because then we are not living in faith. Fear affects us in so many ways, including phyiscally. Fear begins when we buy into the lie. That's what the enemy wants - for us to buy into the lie. I don't know what is going on in each of your lives as you sit and read this today but I can tell you what I've gone through recently. It rather tickles me when people tell me "Oh, you have your own business you must be raking it in!" The hours alone you put in when you run your own business or businesses is enough to make a 9 to 5er be sick. Well, I recently have grown a bit tired and yes, a bit frustrated. I've never been a patient person. Positiionally I'm in a great place but the waiting is agony! I got rather down. When I get like that, I always go to my knees. I "wrestle" in prayer, wanting to understand, wanting to fulfull God's purpose in my life NOW, lol! He just pats me on the head in His loving way and says, "Kim, just wait upon Me. My timing is perfect. Don't fret, don't fear." Jesus said, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me." (John 14: 1, NIV). When we fear brethren, it will result in our disobedience to God. God wants us to step out in faith and He will give the victory unto us for the glory of His name. If we don't take that step though, we are not obeying Him. Our fear is hindering us which means that the paralysis of fear is equal to unbelief, not trusting God to fulfull His promises and that my dear brothers and sisters in Christ is sin. Fear can lead us down a road of compromise, not allowing God to work in our lives. We can imagine all sorts of things going wrong, fear starts to reside, and then our imaginations run rampant causing ultimately our disobedience to God, resulting in sin.
But how do we face our fears?? We face our fears by seeking the Savior, Jesus. "You will keep in perfect peace him who mind is steadfast, because he trusts you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal." Isaiah 26: 3 - 4. We fight fear with fear. Huh? We fight this earthly fear with the fear of God. Remember the fear of the Lord leads to life. The Bible tells us that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. If you've ever read through the Book of Proverbs you'll see this constantly stated. Does it mean to tremble and go ill with fear? No, absolutely not. The word fear here means, to stand in awe of, in reverential respect and awe of our God. To know that He is in control of all things. If we die, we are with Him, if we live we are living out our lives for His good will and purpose. Like our pastor said this morning, we know the end of the movie. God gave us the final chapter in human history. We know how this world ends. We have nothing to fear if we are His. Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Jesus IS the truth and He is the way. He IS eternal life. Satan is ever prosecuting us to God but because of the blood of Jesus, we can stand without fear of the eternal judgement of God. God provided us the way to eternal life with Him through His Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus. We need not fear if we've recognized our need for a Savior, repented of our sin and relinquished our lives to Him. We don't need to stay in fear. Fall back on the truths of Jesus, and know that He dealt with death and sin on the cross at Calvary over 2000 years ago. Jesus IS eternal life. Jesus IS the way without fear. Jesus IS the Light. No fear. Kim Bloomeris a natural pet care consultant and also publishes a pet wellness RSS channel, http://www.Aspenbloom-WellPet.com and Christian RSS channel, http://www.sharingspirit.net. Garden Water Feature - The Fish Dish
By Maisy Day Want to be the envy of all the neighbours in the avenue then a water feature has to be placed into the garden. What ever fancy garden ornamentation that is to be - is entirely up to your own choosing. Because of the many designs and fixtures you may come up against problems in trying to decide what water garden feature to have. The pond is a water feature found in most gardens today in all shapes and sizes and enhanced to the full with added extras to set the scene. Water lilies - bull rushes and reeds are just a few to mention. But it is the under water life that makes the pond more attractive (fish)
Remember when adding a water feature to the garden - take extra precautions in the safety measures where children are concerned. Water garden features like the pond and the fish also need care and attention. Ponds have to be cleaned regular and fish need to be fed. Questions that crop up from many water garden owners is how to feed the fish - what type of feed should be used - how much and how often. Well the answer to that is there is no real fixed amount of fish food to give. Of course there are some important issues on what to feed the fish. You have to take into account the fish`s size its appetite and their delicate digestive system which can differ due to water temperature changes. Beginning from early spring to late autumn you will find the fish very energetic so it will do no harm to feed them every day. If the fish are prepared to take more then so be it. Remember you are not force feeding them so if the fish don`t want to bite then they wont. However, towards the colder months lessen the frequency of feed intake. Sometimes due to the fishs stillness at winter time then no feed is necessary Try not to instigate problems for your fish`s well being by denying them the right food. While the fish are in the mood to dine it is best to serve up a dish that will help them to stay active and healthy. Nourishing fish food is highly recommended. Bread/biscuit meal and ants eggs are less nutritional and can cause problems to the digestive system. Floating pellets filled with high-protein are very nutritious. By feeding the fish this way you get to see more of them as they surface for feeding. Once the garden is the way you have always dreamed of full of foliage -shrubs and sweet scented flowers and of course your water garden feature - then remember that all the surrounding plant growth will attract insects so feeding the fish at this time is not necessary. Natural food supply should start to continue again with pellets in the autumn, this will help perk the fish up in their preparation to face the winter. Repeat pellet feeding in spring it will help the fish recover more rapidly ready for breeding. Water features and creatures go hand in hand in adding beauty to the garden. Expect toads - newts and frogs to hang out in the pond area. Your water garden has not only given you a garden ornament that the neighbours would die for - it is the thought of giving a home to natures aquatic water life. How Much Will Your Prescriptions Cost You?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=West_Conner] West Conner I remember as a child watching a wonderful movie called Animals are Beautiful People. The movie is about the different animals living in Africa and how much they are like human beings. In one scene, a native shows the technique for catching monkeys. They would catch monkeys, not for food, but for water. The monkeys knew where the water was so the African would give the monkey salt. After getting very thirsty from licking the block of salt, it would lead the native to the water source. The interesting part is how the monkeys are caught. First, the native would make sure a curious monkey is watching him. He then would but some nuts, berries, or other food into a hollowed out log or rock. After a while, curiosity gets the best of the little monkey and he just has to know what is in that hole. The opening is just large enough for the monkey to put his hand in. When the monkey grabs what is inside, his fist is too big to pull it out of the hole. Hes just too stubborn to let go of his prize and pull his hand out. The native can simply walk over and tie the monkey to a tree. The reason I relay this story to you is to demonstrate how these big drug companies capture you. They lure you in with slick direct to consumer advertising. Im sure youve seen the commercials on television. Everyone seems to be so happy after taking this little pill. They can suddenly ride bicycles, climb mountains, fish, hike, laugh, play, and have a beautiful relationship with their spouse. So now your curiosity is aroused and you want to see what this medication is all about. In a recent study, 75% of patients who asked their doctor for a particular name brand drug, regardless of their condition, got it. Drug companies advertise to you because it works. Once you think that this pill is going to be the answer to your dreams, they have you. You just cant wait to try this pill that is going to make your life wonderful. They know that you cannot just open your hand and let go, just like the monkey. Remember when Claritin first came out several years ago? The manufacturer spent millions of dollars advertising the new drug. It was the first non-sedating anti-histamine. Suddenly, people without allergies were asking their doctor for Claritin. Not because they needed it, but because they saw the commercial. When Prilosec was introduced to the market, it took the subject of heartburn to the front page. For years, the old standby drugs worked just fine (and they still do). Then this new medication became available and everyone wanted it. Next time you see one of these commercials, pay attention to the people in the advertisement. For Paxil, a woman cant face the social gathering outside until she popped her pill, then she is the life of the party. After taking Levitra, a man can suddenly throw a football through a tire. Hidden meaning? Maybe. (You can get Claritin free at www.claritin.com, free Prilosec OTC at www.prilosecotc.com, and free Levitra at www.levitra.com) According to Forbes magazine, the most expensive diseases are:
Heart Conditions at $68 billion
Cancer at $48 billion
Mental Illness at $48 billion
Respiratory ailments at $45 billion
Hypertension at $32.5 billion
Arthritis and joint disorders at $32 billion
Diabetes at $28 billion
Back problems at $23 billion The average out of pocket expense for prescriptions is now over $250 a month. This is how much money the average person has to pay, with or without insurance, every month at the pharmacy. That comes to over $3000 a year spent on prescription drugs for the average person. I dont want to be average; and I am definitely not average. Recent history tells us that prescription prices are going up anywhere from 8% to 15% per year. What if we used 10%? So next year, the average will be $3300; two years from now, $3630. At this rate, in ten years, you will be spending over $6400 a year, $533 per month. In twenty years, at this rate, $17,000 a year. In thirty years, almost $48,000 a year, $4000 per month! This is average.
Add all this up and it comes to almost $550,000 spent on your prescription. This is IF the increase stays at 10%. Remember, the range has been from 8% to 15%. Changing the rate to 15% increases the amount spent to $1.47 million! WOW! What if you could save just 10% of the cost of your prescriptions? Can you think of something else to do with roughly $100,000? I know I could. Now is the time to be one of the few people who educate themselves about their medication. This will allow you to talk with your doctor about less expensive alternates. Using generics can save you 90%. Cutting your tablets will save you up to 50%. Using certain hidden rebated have the potential to save you hundreds per year, they are right there for the asking. It is said that knowledge is power. In this case, lack of knowledge is expensive. Know Your Career Goals
By Terje Ellingsen What are your career goals? This is probably the most important question you can ask and very few people can actually answer it. It's amazing and a bit of a paradox that most of us career people spend so much time with career planning and working toward goals that we hardly can specify. In the starting phase of a career, things don't always seem like a big deal; in fact they are pretty easy. Most people appreciate having a job, and when the job is new, almost any assignment is challenging. Our employees record signs of progress and assume that their employers are on track. Many of us are promoted one or more times. But do we know our ultimate destination? When we grow older and mature, promotions become less frequent, relationships and politics means more while both pressure and expectations escalate both at work and at home and wisdom takes over. Your career or job goals are likely to change more than one time in life. As you grow and develop and learn more about yourself and your jobs, you may change your mind. So how do you go ahead to discover your real career or professional goals?
